"The desire to reach for the stars is ambitious. The desire to reach hearts is wise" - Maya Angelou

Let's begin with what is most important. Regardless of the role I am fulfilling in the therapeutic relationship – whether it be therapist or clinical supervisor – :

  • The services that I provide are tailored to your goals, visions, and needs.

  • I create a "brave space" that is safe, yet allows for growth, acknowledging the strength it requires to be vulnerable and courageous.

  • I strive to create an empathetic, non-judgmental environment that allows you to bring your authentic self.

  • I consider it an honor and a privilege to join you on this journey, and I take this responsibility seriously.

  • I adhere to all ethical standards and guidelines, particularly those related to client welfare, confidentiality, professional boundaries, and autonomy.

  • I acknowledge that I do not possess all the answers.

  • The client-therapist relationship and therapist-supervisor relationship are essential in this journey. I acknowledge that I am not for everybody and that is okay. If you come to realize at any point during your experience that this is the case, I want to create a transparent environment that enables you to communicate this and helps facilitate a conversation to connect you with a therapist or supervisor who better suits your needs.

Congratulations on taking this huge step to prioritize your mental health or to pursue your professional licensure . Beginning this journey will not be easy but it is necessary and will be very rewarding.

Currently, I am dually licensed as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS), and clinical supervisor to provisionally licensed professionals and addiction certified specialists. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Sociology from East Carolina University in 2012 and my Master’s in Social Work from East Carolina University in 2017. I also earned certificates in Gerontology and Military & Trauma Counseling. My professional experience is diverse to include working in the inpatient setting, outpatient setting, enhanced services, and in crisis services. I also have experience working with diverse populations to include the military population and military dependents, all ages, the LBGTQ population, and the BIPOC population. I am passionate about working with individuals living with ADHD. In practice, I have experience with the following treatment modalities and theories: interpersonal, motivational interviewing, strengths-based, CBT, attachment, solution focused, brief CBT to include Behavior Activation, and EMDR.

I use an integrated framework of treatment modalities and evidenced based practices in treatment and supervison. I incorporate concepts such cognitive behavioral theories, solution focused therapy, family systems theory, psychodynamic therapy, attachment theory, and a strengths based perspective. As well as, incorporating mindfulness and a biopsychosocial-spiritual approach in treatment.

Thank you for considering me to join you on your journey! Please do not hesitate to contact me for a better understanding of my processes, styles, and services. I offer free 30 minute consultation visits for both therapy and supervision to help guide you in making this important decision.
